After spending two seasons in the ranks of "Žalgiris," the Japanese legionnaire Yukiyoshi Karashima chose to play in another country after his contract with the Vilnius club ended.
The 27-year-old midfielder Y. Karashima fought for the championship title with "Žalgiris" this year, and last year he also won the Super Cup.
He arrived in the capital before the 2023 season from Kaunas district's "Hegelmann."
In his first year in "Žalgiris," the midfielder did not always start in the lineup, but in the second season, he became indispensable and missed only two matches.
In total, over two years, the Japanese player played 81 matches for "Žalgiris" in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing four assists.
"I want to thank everyone who supported me and the 'Žalgiris' team. It was a pleasure to fight for the championship title and play in Europe together with you. Here, I won my first title and learned a lot of things. I will never forget the time I spent here. Sincere wishes and the best of luck," Y. Karashima wrote in his farewell message.
Tv3.lt journalist Mantas Krasnickas reports that the Japanese player's career is expected to shift to the RFS club in Riga.
