Roger Schmidt, who was linked with Munich's Bayern at the beginning of summer, has ultimately been left without a job.
Lisbon's Benfica decided to part ways with the head coach in August, who had spent just over two seasons in this position.
It is clear that this dismissal has certainly cost the Portuguese flagship dearly.
According to B24, R. Schmidt will receive 8.7 million euros due to his early dismissal.
The German head coach has been replaced by Bruno Lage, who is currently successfully coaching this Lisbon club during his second stint.
With Benfica, R. Schmidt secured the Portuguese league title and one Super Cup.
