Marcelo has retired from professional football

One of the most famous Brazilian defenders of all time, Marcelo, has announced his retirement from professional football.

The player spent the best years of his career at Real Madrid, where he won a total of 25 trophies.

He also played for Olympiacos in Piraeus and Fluminense.

Indeed, the Brazilian team became his last club in his career.

Florentino Pérez, the president of Real Madrid, paid tribute to the retired Marcelo with kind words: "He is one of the best left-backs in the history of both Madrid and football as a whole. It was an honor for us to watch him play."
