"Atalanta" finished its performance in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.
The Italian club lost 1:3 at home to Club Brugge in the second leg of the knockout stage, resulting in an overall series defeat of 2:5.
Before the halftime break, Atalanta was trailing 0:3 against their opponents, but at the beginning of the second half, it seemed that the Italian club could restore some intrigue. In the 46th minute, Ademola Lookman reduced his team's deficit, but in the 61st minute, he failed to convert a penalty kick.
This specific incident left Atalanta's coach Gian Piero Gasperini particularly angry after the match, as he called A. Lookman the worst penalty taker.
"Lookman shouldn't have taken the penalty. He is one of the worst penalty takers I've ever seen."
"Even in training, he takes penalties very poorly. Retezgui and De Ketelaere were on the field and should have taken the penalty, but Lookman wanted to take the initiative after scoring a goal. I really didn't like his behavior," said G. Gasperini.
It’s worth reminding that in 2020, A. Lookman, while playing for Fulham, had one of the worst penalties in Premier League history.
In 2020, Ademola Lookman failed a ‘Panenka’ penalty for Fulham with his team down 1-0 in the 98th minute…
