During the off-season, Vilnius "Žalgiris" lost young talent Romualdas Jansonas, who moved as a free agent to the "Kauno Žalgirio" club.
However, the director of the A league champion team, Vilma Venslovaitinė, stated that the forward's departure is not a painful blow to the capital's team.
"No one is interested in him because he has not integrated into men's football. That’s why we offered him to stay. Last year he was in the 12th grade, and he was not available - exams. It’s normal. Then illness. No one is protected from that," V. Venslovaitienė explained to TV3.lt journalist Mantas Krasnickas.
19-year-old R. Jansonas has already managed to debut for the Lithuanian men's national team.
Last year, he drew interest from "Zurich," Bergamo "Atalanta," and other teams.
