F. Ourega will play for the 'Kauno Žalgiris' club

Before the start of the 2025 football season, the "Kauno Žalgiris" football club signed a contract with another new player. He is the Frenchman Fabien Ourega.

The 32-year-old attacking midfielder has already played in Lithuania. In 2022, he became the Lithuanian champion with Vilnius "Žalgiris", won the LFF Cup, and helped the team reach the group stage of the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Wearing the capital city's team jersey, F. Ourega scored 8 goals and provided 6 assists during the season.

After his time in Vilnius, F. Ourega spent nearly two years with the Kazakh giant "Astana", where he won two trophies and distinguished himself with one goal and 8 assists in 50 matches.

Earlier, the new Žalgiris player played in his home country, donning the jerseys of various teams in the French leagues. He played for "Orleans," "Sochaux," "Le Havre," "JA Drancy," and "Paris FC." The midfielder first tasted the bread of a legionnaire when he moved to the Belgian team "Virton."

"I feel happy to return to a country and a championship that I know well. I decided to join the club because it has everything to be the best in the country, and I also know the coach very well," said F. Ourega.

"I am a fighter and always want to win, so my goal is to become a champion and reach the group stage. You just have to believe in it," reflected the Frenchman, who chose the number 70 jersey at "Kauno Žalgiris."
