LFF is complaining about the declining state funding.

This week, it became clear that when distributing the funds from the National Sports Agency (20 million euros), football will receive perhaps the smallest share of money among all team sports.

It was officially announced that the basketball federation is allocated 2.4 million euros, while football receives just 208 thousand euros. Football players have already been surpassed by ice hockey, baseball, rugby, and volleyball.

In terms of achievements, football is the only sport in Lithuania that has scored zero points.

"We know how difficult it is to qualify for the World or European Championship. In other sports, there are second and third divisions; football does not have such a thing,” lamented LFF president Edgaras Stankevičius in an interview with TV3.
