The Spanish superclub has informed the Swedish national team star Henrik Larsson that they will offer him a contract only after the European Championship.
The Swedish national team striker left Glasgow after last season and then mentioned that he would like to play in Spain. The most realistic candidates since then have been Barcelona.
Now Barcelona's president Joan Laporta has publicly announced that he plans to offer a two-year contract to the 32-year-old striker.
"Larsson needs to finish the championship as he is playing very well and we do not want to disturb him," Laporta told the English newspaper "The Guardian." "However, he knows that we are interested in him and that a contract awaits him. He is an experienced player and the contract could be for two years."
