The team of the Spanish vice champion announced that they reached an agreement with regarding the price of Liudovic Giuly (7 million euros - ed. note) and he should officially become a "Barca" player next week.
The Catalan team had already agreed on all contract terms with the Frenchman a few weeks ago, but did not want to pay 10 million euros (about 35 million litas) that "Monaco" demanded for one of its leaders.
There were even rumors that "Barca", as an addition to the proposed 5 million, was willing to give the young Portuguese Ricardo Quaresma to the "Monaco" team, but it did not happen and Ricardo will at least play a season in Spain.
Next week, a delegation from Monaco will travel to Spain to finally legally confirm the player's transfer. This was also confirmed by the president of "Barca", Joan Laporta.
"Everything is already agreed, and now it only remains for a few signatures to be added after the contract." - Laporta said.
Giuly is not the first player to join the "Barcelona" club this summer. The Spanish team had already signed a contract with the right-back of the Brazilian national team, Belletti.
Recently, "Barca" also announced that after the end of the European Championship they will offer a contract to the Swedish national team star Henrik Larsson, who left the club after the season and is now a free agent.
