Draw and UEFA Cup first qualifying round fixtures. 50 teams were divided into three groups by regions: northern, southern, and eastern. In the northern group, Lithuanian vice-champion Panevezys "Ekranas" will play against "Dudelange" from Luxembourg, and Lithuanian Cup winner Vilnius "Zalgiris" will face Northern Ireland's "Portadown".
The first matches will be played on July 15th, and the return matches on July 27th. The 25 winners of the first qualifying round will advance to the second qualifying round, where another 39 teams will join. Finally, out of 64 teams, 32 clubs will remain, which will be able to participate in the first stage of the UEFA Cup.
