The official club website today announced that "Barca" has finally acquired player Ludovic Giuly.
Giuly still needs to undergo a medical examination and on Monday he will be officially introduced to the team's fans.
The French national team footballer was one of the main players of the team this season, helping the club achieve an amazing result - reaching the UEFA Champions League final.
The 27-year-old player scored 13 goals in this year's "Ligue 1" championship and made 4 appearances in the UEFA Champions League tournament. His 2 goals scored against Real Madrid were crucial in helping "Monaco" eliminate the Spanish giants.
For the French national team, Giuly has played 10 matches and scored 1 goal. Jacques Santini had included him in the team for the European Championship, but Giuly suffered an injury and had to watch the tournament from the sidelines.
Giuly is not the first player to join "Barcelona" this summer. The Spanish team had previously signed a contract with Brazilian national team defender Belletti.
Recently, "Barca" also announced that after the European Championship they will offer a contract to Sweden national team star Henrik Larsson, who left his club after the season and is currently a free agent.
