The German Football Association (DFB) has formed a special commission that will be responsible for finding a new national team coach. According to a DPA agency announcement, this commission includes DFB president Gerhard Mayer-Vorfelder, general secretary Horst Schmidt, Bundesliga president Werner Hackman, and the chairman of the 2006 World Cup organizing committee Franz Beckenbauer.

According to the British newspaper "Daily Mail," one of the candidates for the position of head coach of the German national team is London's head coach Arsene Wenger. According to this publication, the Germans are willing to offer this specialist up to 6 million dollars a year. They also expect Beckenbauer's influence, who will try to persuade Wenger to leave his job at the 2004 English champions club for the German national team.

Wenger speaks German and has previously stated that German football has had a big influence on him and in the future he would like to work in Germany.
