The candidate for the position of Real Madrid president, Lorenzas Sanzas, is wasting promises. He claims that if elected club president, he will bring the most productive player of the 2004 European Championship, Czech Milan Baroš, his compatriot Tomáš Rosický, and Portugal national team midfielder Maniche to the club. Sanzas admitted that he has not yet spoken to Baroš or Rosický's clubs, but assured that he has already reached agreements with the players themselves. The Spaniard also added that he has reached a full agreement with Maniche regarding the Portuguese national team defender's move to Real. "We were at the European Championship final and there we reached very important agreements," Sanzas said at a press conference. "If I win the elections, Maniche and Baroš will be at coach Camacho's disposal by next Monday. And Rosicky should become a Real player in the coming years." Such promises when running for club president positions are very popular in Spain. Sanzas lost the battle for the Real Madrid presidency to Florentino Perez in 2000, who then promised to lure Luis Figo from Barcelona, Real's biggest rival. Current president Florentino Perez and businessman Arturas Baldasanas are also vying for the Real Madrid presidency.
