Finally, one of the biggest summer transfer sagas has come to an end - Dutch national team defender Edgar Davids has signed a three-year contract with Inter Milan, and during the season, it is estimated that he will earn around 3.5 million euros.
The 31-year-old player had been a free agent for some time because his contract with Barcelona, as well as his loan to Ajax, had ended. There had been talk for a long time that Davids could move to clubs like Juventus, AC Milan, or Chelsea.
However, the Italian press never doubted that the player had already agreed to move to Inter, and they were just waiting for everything to be finalized. This morning, the club officially announced the transfer.
"We are all very pleased. We have managed a process that is important from a technical standpoint and economically speaking is in line with the strategies planned by the board," said Inter president Giacinto Facchetti. "Everyone knows how good Davids is, but I would like to emphasize what he has done in just a few months in Barcelona. He showed that he has the drive and enthusiasm to lead the team to second place in the league table, which was unimaginable before he arrived."
