Marijampolė's "Sūduva" today announced unexpected news - two coaches from Italy have arrived at the club, who will try to lead the team out of crisis.
After a devastating 2-6 loss to "Šilutė" in the last round of the "A-League", having only collected six points in 12 rounds, the team is in last place and significantly behind the closest competitors.
Such unsuccessful performance of the team forced the club's management to look for a replacement for coach Valdimaras Žilinskas. Although it seemed that a coach from Lithuania should be invited, it was decided to choose foreign strategists, which is quite unusual in Lithuania.
52-year-old Rino Lavezzini has worked in the club and recently coached the "Genoa" team playing in "Serie-B". Meanwhile, Mino Ferrari was among the coaches in Milan, at the same "Sampdoria", and has been coaching the Libya national team for the past 5 years.
The leaders of "Sūduva" hope that the new coaches will help the team rise from last place and stay in the league. Italians stated at the press conference that this work is interesting to them and they will be able to gain new experience. For now, it remains unclear which of the coaches will become the head coach.
