The National Football Clubs Association (NFKA), carrying out this year's Lithuanian football A league championship, had to adjust the competition schedule again.
FK "Ekranas" appealed to the board asking to postpone the July 31 match against FBK "Kaunas" to reserve days. "Ekranas" plays the return leg of the UEFA Cup first round on July 29 in Luxembourg and returns to Lithuania on July 30. NFKA board members, with four votes "for", three - abstaining, satisfied "Ekranas" request.
After long negotiations, a compromise was found and another issue was resolved. FK "Ekranas" asked for the board's permission to move the August 14 match against FK "Sūduva" to July 24. The new coaches of "Sūduva" did not show much willingness to change the schedule. After "Sūduva" negotiated to have Gerdas Aleksa (currently improving his skills at "Sūduva") play in the match against "Ekranas", the board listened to Ekran's request. The board, considering that FK "Sūduva" agreed to postpone the match, voted to approve this request. The match will be played this Saturday (July 24) at 18:00 in Marijampolė.
