Zoranas Lukičius left the Swedish champions' club after being removed from the position of head coach. This was announced today by representatives of the Stockholm club.

"We wanted Zoranas Lukičius to stay and work as a coach in the new club organization scheme," said president Bosse Lundquistas on the club's website. "However, Zoranas saw some difficulties in that and decided to leave Djurgarden."

Lukičius coached the club since 1999. His players won the country champions' titles in the past two seasons.

The former coach of the second division Swedish club "Vasteras," Kjellis Jonevretas, has been appointed as the new club's coach.

Currently, Djurgarden is in ninth place in the Swedish championship standings.

The Champions League matches between FBK and Djurgarden clubs will take place on July 28 and August 4. The first match will be played in Stockholm.
