Club striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has refused to extend his contract with the Dutch club. The current contract is valid for another two years. The Swedish national team striker intends to play another year in Amsterdam, and then leave the capital club of the Netherlands.
"We have refused to negotiate for the extension of the contract. Next season Zlatan plans to play for Ajax, and after that he would like to play in one of the strongest European leagues, and the club will have the opportunity to receive monetary compensation for it," said the footballer's agent Mino Raiola.
After a splendid performance at Euro-2004, Ibrahimovic has already attracted the attention of major European clubs this year. One of the clubs most interested in the footballer is Olympique Marseille. They hoped to replace their outgoing attacking leader with him.
