The club, not lacking funds for new players, acquired another player. From the club's England "Premier" league vice-champions bought defender Ricardo Carvalho.
The player who made it into the symbolic eleven of the best footballers in the European Championship left "Porto" for 30 million euros and signed a three-year contract.
R. Carvalho is already the second player who will follow former "Porto" coach Jose Mourinho to "Chelsea". Previously, another defender from the Portuguese club, Paulo Ferreira, did the same.
Today, R. Carvalho will fly to the USA, where he is preparing for the new season with "Chelsea". Tomorrow night, the English club will face a team from Italy.
This summer, "Chelsea" spent 130 million pounds on new purchases. In addition to R. Carvalho and P. Ferreira, they also bought strikers Mateja Kežman and Didier Drogba, defenders Arjen Robben and Tiago Mendes, as well as goalkeeper Petr Cech.
