The champion of Spain and winner of the UEFA Cup confirmed on the club's official website that she has signed a one-year lease contract with defender Marcu Caneira.
25-year-old Caneira, a member of the Portuguese national team at the 2002 World Cup, will join the Spanish champions after passing a medical examination.
Caneira will be the sixth new acquisition of Valencia's new coach Claudio Ranieri this summer. Before that, the club acquired four Italians - Bernardo Corradi, Stefano Fiore, Emiliano Moretti, Marco Di Vaio - and French goalkeeper Ludovic Butelle.
This is not the first time in recent years that Valencia has rented a player from a French club - in January 2002, the club rented a defender who can play on both sides until the end of the season.
