The 31-year-old player suffered a right knee injury during a training session and was forced to undergo surgery.
The new Liverpool coach Rafael Benitez confirmed to the press that his club is now looking for a new goalkeeper to fill the gap.
"Now it's difficult for both us and him, but I hope he will recover sooner than expected. In the meantime, we are looking for a new goalkeeper to strengthen the team," Benitez said.
