Today the retiring defender P. Scholes announced that he will no longer represent the national English football team.
Over seven years representing the Manchester club, the player played 66 matches for the national team and scored 14 goals.
"It wasn't an easy decision for me. I thought a lot before making it," said the footballer.
"I started my career in England in 1997. I enjoyed great football, played with the best players in the world, and was coached by the best coaches."
"But after this year's European football championship, I realized that it's time for me to retire from international football."
