Former Spanish national team star Luis Enrique has announced the end of his professional career.
The 35-year-old Spaniard announced his decision on his official website. In the statement, the former Barcelona captain said he had offers to play in England, France, Japan, Qatar and Mexico. The veteran motivated his decision to retire simply by saying, "I have nothing more to prove or strive for."
Enrique represented the Spanish national team 62 times during his career. The veteran also played for "Promesas," La Coruña's "Sporting," Gijón's "Real," and Madrid's "Real" clubs.
