The Lithuanians started the match more actively and were close to scoring in the fourth minute, when Panka's shot hit the post. In the 7th minute, Skroblas brought down Milchraum in the penalty area, and a penalty kick was awarded, but Malinauskas saved Hanke's shot.
Soon, Hanke redeemed his mistake - after a pass from Odonkor from the side, he sent the ball into the visitors' goal and put his team ahead. Later, Hanke and Schlaudraff missed a couple of opportunities to score. At the end of the first half, the game leveled out.
Ten minutes into the second half, the Germans doubled the score. Once again Odonkor played well, passing the ball to Patschinsky after Hanke replaced him, and he scored the second goal for the hosts.
In the 69th minute, Lehman missed a good opportunity, and shortly after, on the other side of the field, Rensing defended the German goal. Nevertheless, the hosts continued to play more dangerously, and the excellent goalkeeper Malinauskas had to save his team multiple times, protecting the Lithuanians from a bigger defeat - the match ended with a score of 2-0.
Next, the Lithuanian youth national team will play a match on September 3rd in Belgium, where they will begin the competition in the seventh group of the European Youth Championship qualifying stage.
