Today, in the women's football tournament of the Olympic Games, after the played semifinal matches, two teams have emerged to compete for the gold medals - the teams of the USA and Brazil.

USA 2 - 1 Germany (after extra time, regular time 1 - 1) 33' Kristine Lilly [1 - 0] 90+2' Isabelle Bachor [1 - 1] 99' Heather O'Reilly [2 - 1]

In the first semifinal, the USA national team, winners of the silver medal at the Sydney Olympic Games, met the World Champion Germany. Kristine Lilly led her team forward in the 33rd minute, and later the Americans had opportunities to double the result, but they failed to do so.

For that, they were punished by Isabelle Bachor, who leveled the score during the added time. However, in extra time, the victory was snatched by the Americans with a precise strike by Heather O'Reilly.

Sweden 0 - 1 Brazil 64' Pretinha

These teams had already faced each other last year at the World Cup - back then, the Europeans defeated their opponents from South America with a score of 2-1 in the quarterfinals.

But this time, the Brazilians managed to take revenge and beat their opponents by a minimal score. Pretinha scored the winning goal for them in the 64th minute.

The final match between Brazil and the USA, as well as the battle for third place, where Sweden will meet Germany, will take place on Thursday.
