Club defender Michael Reiziger will be unable to play for about six weeks due to injury. It has been revealed that the 31-year-old Dutchman will need surgery on his injured shoulder.
M.Reiziger suffered the injury during a friendly match with . Although he later returned to the field, he re-injured himself during the second "Premier" league match. In the 77th minute of the game, he was forced to be substituted.
"Middlesbrough" coach Steve McClaren confirmed today that the player will travel to Switzerland, where he will undergo surgery on Saturday.
