After the investigation into suspicions of some players and clubs prearranging match results, the disciplinary committee of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) announced the verdict for those involved in the scandal.

A 32-year-old defender who played in one match for the Italian national team recently ended his contract and received a five-month suspension.

A 34-year-old player from the team saw his career come to an end as he was disqualified for three years. Maurizio Caccavale from "Pescara" will not be able to play for six months, while Alfredo Femiano from "Como" received a five-month ban.

The player will be suspended for six months, the former goalkeeper and coach Giuseppe Papadopulo received one year and five months of disqualification respectively. The Siena club managed to escape a harsher punishment and demotion to "Serie-B".

Meanwhile, the "Modena" club was not relegated to "Serie-C", but will start the new "Serie-B" season with a five-point deficit.

All others involved in the scandal, including former coach Luigi Del Neri, who played for "Siena", and the "Verona" club, were acquitted.
