The new AS club strategist Cesare Prandelli announced that he is leaving the team, despite being at the helm only this summer.
The former strategist arrived at the club this summer, replacing the departed Fabio Capello as head coach, but now stated that he is forced to leave the team due to family reasons.
"Roma" confirmed this news on their official website, but also mentioned that the team hopes to persuade the coach to stay.
The club has given the coach time to carefully consider his decision and only then take the decisive step. Prandelli must make a final decision before the start of the official matches.
However, despite "Roma" still hoping that Prandelli will change his mind, the Italian press is already speculating on who will become the new coach of the eternal city's team.
Among the most realistic contenders are two coaches - Serse Cosmi and Luigi Del Neri. The latter successfully led the team in the past few seasons but was dismissed from the head coach position this summer, having spent only a few months at the club and not playing a single official match.
Meanwhile, Cosmi left his team this summer and is now a free agent, and has also stated multiple times that he is a fan of the "Roma" club.
