Forget Wayne Rooney - there is a new talent who is already being called one of the best young players ever.
Arsenal's youth Cesc Fabregas became a sensation during the first matches of this year's Premier League.
Even the legendary Arsenal goalkeeper Bob Wilson praised the youngster: "He is a wonderkid, nurtured by Arsene Wenger. From everything I heard and saw, it is clear that he will become a huge star. I think Fabregas is one of the best young players ever."
The 17-year-old midfielder played in all three Arsenal club matches this season. His excellent performance helped the Gunners achieve a record of 43 consecutive unbeaten matches.
Even Arsene Wenger himself is amazed at how this player copes with the demands placed on him: "He played against three men - Ray Parlour, Tugay, and Thomas Gravesen. And in every match, he did his job perfectly. It's something unbelievable."
C. Fabregas came to England from the Barcelona club. A. Wenger then said that he watched his play in the youth team every weekend. Shortly after arriving, C. Fabregas became the youngest Arsenal player to ever play in professional matches. He was only 16 years old at the time.
But that was not enough for the young talent. After 35 days, he was already celebrating his first goal against Wolves in the Carling Cup. Not only that, a few days later he scored his first hat-trick in the Premier League.
The young talent also became a favorite among Arsenal fans. When he was substituted with five minutes left in a match, the entire Highbury stadium bid him farewell with thunderous applause.
