Belgium, who will play against the Lithuanian national team on September 4th in the qualification matches for the 2006 World Cup, today announced their lineup.
The head coach of Belgium, Aime Anthuenis, decided to trust the team that recently played a friendly match against Norway with a 2-2 draw. In that match, Thomas Buffel scored twice for Belgium.
Notably absent from the lineup is the main goalkeeper Geert de Vlieger, who is sidelined with a serious injury and will not be able to play for the entire year. The opportunity to shine will therefore fall to Erwin Lemmens or Tristan Peersman.
