Just a few weeks after the start of the new season, the senior coach of the club Bobby Robson was fired. The former coach of the England national team had been coaching the club of his hometown for 5 years.

The club released a statement claiming that the main reason for the coach's dismissal was the poor start of the season.

The start of the new season was indeed unsuccessful for the "Newcastle" club. In 4 matches, the club did not achieve victories and only collected 3 points. The club also faced internal problems.

Kieron Dyer refused to play in matches and was booed by fans. Meanwhile, Craig Bellamy publicly criticized the team's performance in the championship. Some were unhappy with the coach's decision not to include A. Shearer in the starting lineup.

Even before the season started, "Newcastle" director Freddie Shepherd announced that the club would not renew the contract with the 73-year-old coach.

"Newcastle" will now look for a new coach. Among the possible options is A. Shearer, who plans to work as a coach after finishing his career. Among other candidates are former coach Gerard Houllier and current strategist Steve Bruce.
