Cruyff: "Too Many Brazilians on Board" © EuroFootball.com

The football legend Johan Cruyff from the Netherlands stated that the Spanish superclub "has too many Brazilians" in its lineup.

Cruyff, who played for Barcelona from 1973 to 1978 and later coached the team from 1988 to 1996, believes that the Catalan superclub did not learn from its mistakes and again bought many players from one country.

"In the past, Barcelona was criticized for having too many players from the Dutch national team," said Cruyff. "Now they have sold most of the Dutch players and bought Brazilians. They really did not learn from their mistakes."

"I am not saying that the Brazilians playing for Barcelona are playing badly, successful clubs usually have foreign players from various nationalities," said the Dutch football legend. "Having so many players from one nationality can have a negative impact on the team's atmosphere."

At present, Barcelona has six players born in Brazil: Ronaldinho, Deco, Belletti, Edmilson, Sylvinho and Thiago Motta.
