The French champion from Lyon "Olympique" has signed a two-year contract with the national team striker Sylvaine Wiltord, thus bringing him back to his homeland.
30-year-old S. Wiltord last played in France in the 98/99 season when he represented and won the "Ligue-1" champions title, became the league's top scorer, and was named French Player of the Year.
He was then bought by a London club for 21 million euros, with which he twice became the champion of the English championship. This year, Wiltord's contract was not renewed, so the player became a free agent.
In recent years, the Frenchman trained with "Rennes", and with the club losing their main attacking leader Elber, they decided to not only buy the Brazilian Nilmar but also bring Wiltord to their team.
