Yesterday was the last day for European football clubs to strengthen their squads, earn from sales, or reduce the number of players in the team - the player summer market closes on September 1st and will open again only at the beginning of next year.

Newspaper headlines were dominated by multi-million deals such as W.Rooney's transfer to "Man Utd", Z.Ibrahimovič and F.Cannavaro's arrival at "Juventus". However, EuroFootball.com will now try to review the "last minute" transfers that portal visitors were not informed about in previous news.

Italy sees a lot of activity - "Fiorentina" sold Daniele De Vezze to "Reggina", loaned Ziss Vryzas to "Celta" forward, Alfonso Camorani to "Siena", and tried to loan Adrian Mutu from "Chelsea" without success. "Juventus" also sold David Baiocco to "Perugia" in addition to Miccoli.

"Lazio" not only added 9 players but also resisted offers from "Inter" and "Juventus" for defender Cesare and Italy national team defender Massimo Oddo.

In England, mid-table and underdog clubs were the ones strengthening the most - "Southampton" not only bought players but also changed the coach. They signed Andreas Jakobsson just before the market closed.

"W.B.A." the Premier League newcomer, acquired three players. Japanese national team defender Junichis Inamoto arrived for £200,000.

In France, "Paris-SG" sold Fabrice Fiorese to "Marseille" for 3 million euros and signed Fabrice Pancrate from "Le Mans". UEFA Intertoto Cup winners "Lille" got rid of Adekanmi Olufadé and Marius Baciu but brought in Nigerian international defender Peter Odemwingie.

In Spain, "Mallorca" loaned the Dutch goalkeeper Sander Westerveld from "Real Sociedad" and agreed on a contract takeover.

In Germany, "HSV" bought defender Khalid Boulahrouz from "RKC" and loaned Jean Carlos Donde from "Feyenoord". "Nürnberg" acquired defender Mario Cantaluppi from Swiss side "Basel".

Belgian club "Standard" bought four players from "Marseille", "Juventus", and signed Juan Ramon Curbelo and Jorge Curbelo from Uruguay.

"Austria Wien" spent one million euros to buy Nigerian international Tosin Dosunmu.
