Club defender Michael Reiziger will not be able to represent his club at least until Christmas this year. This player will undergo shoulder surgery.
The 31-year-old Dutchman suffered this injury in preseason matches with the club, but recovered. During the season matches with the London club, the player injured the same shoulder again, and the injury recurred. After these matches, surgeons determined that surgery is necessary for the player to fully recover.
Initially, it was thought that M. Reiziger's recovery would take about six weeks, but this summer the visiting player will have to recover for much longer.
"After examining me, the surgeons were surprised by the injury I experienced. They did not expect it to be so severe. According to them, I will have to undergo treatment at least until Christmas this year," Reiziger stated.
