The "NFKA A-League" championship probably already ended for the most productive striker of this season, Povilas Lukšys. Last week, a successful appendix operation was performed on him at Panevėžys hospital.

The rapidly recovering footballer is determined to return to the field as soon as possible. "As soon as the doctors allow, I will start training little by little. It's very unfortunate that I probably won't be able to score goals in this year's championship anymore. I had plans to remain the top scorer until the end of the championship," Lukšys spoke jokingly.

The unexpected operation did not please "Ekrano" head coach Virginijus Liubšys. "You can't change anything. Such is life - full of surprises. Now other players will have to step up. Vitalijus (Vitalijus Kavaliauskas and Vitalijus Makrytskis) will score the goals. Povilas had a great season. Now others will show what they are capable of," said the "Ekrano" coach.

After 16 matches played, Povilas Lukšys had an impressive tally of 14 goals.
