At the moment, the Lithuanian Football Federation (LFF) is negotiating with Gintaras Staučė and his current club "FC Jurmala" (Latvia). The goalkeeper, who recently stepped down from the national team, is offered a coaching job.
The LFF offers the goalkeeper to return to the national team not as a player anymore, but as a goalkeeper coach. If G.Staučė becomes a coach, he would train young goalkeepers - current national team goalkeeper 21-year-old Žydrūnas Karčemarskas and the same age U-21 national team goalkeeper Mindaugas Malinauskas.
The goal of LFF is to appoint a separate goalkeeper coach for the Lithuanian national team and U-21 team. It is not clear yet whether G.Staučė will agree to work in these positions, as he would have to balance coaching with his duties at "Jurmala" club.
