Match between "Roma" and "Dynamo" interrupted © EuroFootball.com

UEFA Champions League Group B match between AS and Kiev, which took place at the Rome Olympic Stadium, was interrupted due to the injury of the match referee Anders Frisk.

In the first half, the visitors from Ukraine were playing better, taking the lead after a splendid penalty kick by G. Gavrančičius. Towards the end of the half, P. Mexes received a red card for a foul on M. Verpakovskis, and someone was particularly unhappy with this decision, as something unclear (possibly a flashlight or a coin) was thrown at the referee as he was leaving for the locker room.

The referee fell to the ground clutching his head, and soon was taken off the field bleeding. Initially, the injury did not seem too serious, but the start of the second half was delayed, and ultimately it was decided to interrupt the match as A. Frisk could no longer continue.

The Swedish referee is not very popular in Rome already, as he was in the same city two years ago when there were mass brawls between players of "Roma" and "Galatasaray," officials, and the police.

The "Roma" club's ultras have been known for causing incidents for some time - in Italy, they are second in causing unrest (behind "Napoli" fans), and last season they managed to convince the team's captain Francesco Totti to cancel the "eternal" city derby due to false rumors about a child's death.

According to UEFA representatives, this match will not be continued and the result of the first half should be taken into account, with a likely strict punishment to be imposed on the "Roma" club by the disciplinary committee.
