The Greek team Olympiacos announced that they are parting ways with Ukrainian coach Oleg Protasov and replacing him with former Olympiacos assistant coach, Serbian Sinisa Gogič. The decision was made after a home loss to AEK Athens, which cost Olympiacos the lead position for the first time this season.
Currently, Olympiacos is in second place in the Greek league with 56 points, two points behind the new leader Panathinaikos, who defeated Panionios 1-0 on Sunday. Protasov led the team for 13 months and won the league title for the seventh consecutive season last year.
Gogič has been serving as assistant coach since 2002. "Times are tough. We need actions, not just words!" firmly stated Sinisa Gogič.
