On Friday, in the rescheduled 21st round of the A League matches in Klaipeda, the country's champion FBK "Kaunas" won their thirteenth victory of the season by defeating "Šilutė", who is in sixth place, for whom it was their tenth loss.
This match was supposed to take place on September 26 at S. Darius and S. Girėnas Stadium, but the stadium is being prepared for the European Athletics Championships, so the match was played nine days earlier in Klaipeda.

Since both teams will play again next Sunday, they started the match with non-main lineups and did not make an extra effort. At the beginning of the second half, the team from Šilutė unexpectedly took the lead after a goal by Z. Butka, but later the attackers R. Beniušis and E. Poderis scored twice for the league leaders "Kaunas", who added three more points to their tally.
The teams of the A League have an intensive schedule ahead, as on Sunday the matches of the 20th round will be played, and on Wednesday the matches of the 21st round. Among these eight matches, the most interesting should be the match between the two leaders - "Kaunas" will play at home against second-placed "Ekranas" on September 19.
