On Saturday in the English Premier League, the sixth round of matches were played. Out of the six matches that took place today, four ended in draws.

The leader, Arsenal, lost their first points today. They were unable to defeat the successful team, Bolton, who have had a good start to the season. The match ended in a 2-2 draw. Birmingham and Charlton also played to a 1-1 draw.

The only home victory was secured by Blackburn, who beat Portsmouth 1-0. Matt Jansenas scored the only goal with 15 minutes left to play. Thanks to two goals from Nicolas Anelka, Manchester City defeated league debutants Crystal Palace. So far this season, Crystal Palace has not managed to secure a victory.

Aston Villa continues to struggle. This time, they were unable to defeat another debutant, Norwich, away from home. The match ended goalless. The intense match between West Brom and Fulham, which saw three red cards shown, ended in a 1-1 draw.
