"Real Madrid's club president Florentino Perez has confirmed that coach Jose Antonio Camacho's resignation statement has been accepted, and he is stepping down from the position of the team's head coach, but will receive another job within the club.

While a new coach is being sought, Perez also announced the person temporarily taking over these duties - he is the assistant coach Mariano Garcia Remon: "I want to announce that the 'Real' management has decided to accept coach Jose Antonio Camacho's resignation statement, but despite that, he will remain working in the club in other positions. I also want to announce that we have decided to trust Mariano Garcia Remon, who has been loyal to the club and is now appointed as the interim coach."

"This way we will ensure the continuity of the work of Jose Antonio Camacho, who personally recommended Garcia Remon. On behalf of the club's management, I also want to send a reassuring message to everyone - we are confident that our goals for this season remain the same and we ask the fans to fully support the new coach," Perez said.

Camacho was already considering resigning after Real's defeat in Saturday's Spanish championship match, as it was the second consecutive loss, as the royal club suffered a crushing defeat in the Champions League match against Leverkusen before that.

Camacho cited his inability to fully agree with the team's stars as the reason for his resignation, and he could not find ways to change the situation. This is the second time Camacho is stepping down from these duties - in 1998, due to disagreements with the president Lorenzo Sanz, he coached the team for only 23 days."
