Madridth President Florentino Perez said that Jose Antonio Camacho's resignation will not force him to change his "Galactico" policy.
"We have tried to assemble a team that wins, that captivates, and that has hundreds of millions of fans all over the world. And we will continue this work," Perez told radio Marca on Monday.
Camacho stepped down from his position yesterday, stating that he would not be able to get the maximum result from the expensive team lineup.
Perez said that coaching a team with high-profile players like David Beckham, Ronaldo, and Zinedine Zidane was a challenging task, but it is not the players to blame for the poor form at the start of the season. "It is always difficult to coach such a talented squad like Real Madrid," he said. "That's why the coach's job is to bring out the maximum from the players. The players are excellent professionals, not spoiled children, as some people might think."
"I intend to talk to them, encourage them, and tell them that there are millions of people all over the world watching what they do. Therefore, players must push themselves to the limit. But it would be wrong to blame the players themselves for not making an effort."
Perez stated that Real must entertain their fans, who, according to him, would not accept a more pragmatic style of play.
