Former Argentine youth national team and "River Plate" player Matias Lequi will represent the Roma team next season - on Monday he signed a three-year contract with the club.
Last season, M. Lequi was loaned to a club with which he had a great season in Spain. The Madrid team wanted to acquire him, but they failed to reach an agreement with the player, who belongs to "Cerro Porteno" from Uruguay.
Later, "Lazio", "Deportivo", "Barcelona", and this week Roma managed to convince the Uruguayans to release Lequi, who in turn agreed to a salary of €700,000 per season.
However, bad news came for "Lazio" camp yesterday - defender Cesar will be out for six weeks, at least one week without goalkeeper A.Peruzzi on the field.
Meanwhile, the other club of the Eternal City awaits a verdict today, as they will receive punishment for an incident during the Champions League match against Kiev, when referee A.Frisk was injured.
