Due to massive protest actions in Israel, the first matches of the UEFA Cup between "Maccabi" Petach-Tikva and Dutch "Heerenveen" will be moved.
The protest action, in which nearly 400,000 Israeli residents participated, paralyzed the work of the international capital's airport, preventing the Dutch club from flying to Tel Aviv.
According to the Reuters news agency, the leadership of "Heerenveen" has already discussed the issue with UEFA officials, who initially assured the Dutch that an exception would be made for their flight. However, this did not happen, and "Heerenveen" was unable to travel to Israel for Wednesday's match.
The official UEFA website reports that a decision has been made to reschedule the match to Thursday, September 23rd. The second leg match, like all other UEFA Cup matches, will take place on the following Thursday, September 30th.
