In the Lithuanian football "A-League" on Wednesday, the matches of the 21st round were played. Panevezys "Ekranas" re-entered the battle for the first place in the championship after unexpectedly defeating the leader FBK "Kaunas" by a large margin, following the team captain's "hat-trick". Despite that, the second position was retained by Klaipeda's "Atlantas", who defeated the "Šilutė" club in the Pamarys derby. Eight goals were scored in this match, making it one of the most productive games of the season, equivalent to only the 12th round match where the same "Šilutė" team beat "Sūduva". The latter team earned their tenth point in the league - the Marijampolis team played a draw in Vilnius against "Žalgiris", but they still remain in the last place on the tournament table, trailing by five points from their closest rivals. The losing streak was finally broken by Vilnius "Vėtra" team, who defeated "Vilnius" in the postponed match due to the reconstruction of the "Žalgiris" stadium.
