During the night from Friday to Saturday outside his home in Knowle, West Midlands county, the club's head coach Steve Bruce was attacked and beaten. Although seriously injured, he was not hospitalized, but had visible marks of bruising on his face.
A club representative stated that the coach was attacked by one or two men when he went outside to check on his daughter's car alarm. The team's chairman David Gold said that the 42-year-old coach was shocked, but is still focusing on today's Premier League match.
