Surprises were presented in the two matches of the fourth round of the highest league in Italy on Saturday - "Juventus", which had not stumbled until then, failed to win, and the vice-champion "Roma" experienced another failure.
Already in the first 37 minutes after one goal by G. Cipriani and two by M. Meghni, "Bologna" sensationally surged ahead by a margin of three goals. However, shortly after the second goal, author Cipriani was sent off the field because the match referee decided that the player simulated a fall and showed him a second yellow card.
The match official continued to hand out cards, and in the 50th minute, "Bologna" was left with nine players, as T. Zagorakis was also sent off the field. Taking advantage of the numerical superiority, the visitors softened the gap - F. Totti did it, but later V. Montella's goal was disallowed for offside, and Mido hit the crossbar.
At the end of the match, the irritated "Roma" captain F. Totti climbed onto one of the opponents, but the referee took pity on the losing team and decided not to punish him harshly.
The leader of "Serie A", Turin's "Juventus", spoiled their hundred percent streak in the match against "Palermo". In the 16th minute, the visitors surged ahead - and E. Corini's penalty kick sent the ball into the net past C. Zaccardo standing at the goalpost.
Both teams later exchanged dangerous episodes, and the result became even in the 54th minute: D. Trezeguet passed the ball to Z. Ibrahimovic, who headed it in, the goalkeeper managed to deflect the shot, but the ball still flew into the net from the crossbar.
However, replays showed that the Swedish striker could have been offside when shooting, but the assistant referee did not signal it, so the match ended in a draw.
