Club hit by crisis on Sunday decided to accept coach Rudi Voller's resignation statement, as neither President Franco Sensi nor sports director Franco Baldini were able to persuade the German to stay in his position.

Voller decided to resign after the tragic fourth round match, in which "Roma," having a two-player advantage for almost half of the match, failed to resist the "Bologna" team and lost with a score of 3-1.

At the farewell press conference, Voller explained why he decided to step down from his position after only 26 days: "First of all, I want to thank President Franco Sensi for agreeing to accept my resignation. I was used to dealing with the team in a certain way. I tried to do it my way, but yesterday I realized that it was the wrong way for the 'Roma' team."

"The club supported me one hundred percent, and the players, led by Francesco Totti, asked me to stay. However, I feel that I am doing the right thing, as I do not believe I can help this team," Voller said.

Temporarily, coach duties were taken over by Ezio Sella, who should lead the team in Tuesday's Champions League match with , but now the "Roma" club will have to look for a new strategist, who will be the fourth in the last three months - in the summer, F.Capello took over, and before the start of the season, C.Prandelli left the team due to his wife's illness.

The club may try to persuade the latter coach to return, but as this is unlikely to succeed, they will have to look elsewhere. The main candidate at the moment is unemployed former coach L.Del Neri, as well as ex-Genoa coach L.De Canio, mentioned A.Zaccheroni, who has trained three major clubs, and even A.Sacchi, who left due to stress.
