On Sunday, three matches of the 22nd round were played in the Lithuanian football championship. The fourth round of the "A League" had already started a little earlier, when in the matches of this round last week, "Kaunas" defeated "Šilutė".
In the league, at least temporarily, Klaipėda's "Atlantas" became the leader, narrowly defeating Vilnius' "Žalgiris" at home, who are in fourth place, and equalizing points with "Kaunas", but surpassing them in goal difference. However, this advantage is likely only temporary, as the national champions have played two fewer matches.
Panevėžys' "Ekranas" did not take the opportunity to get even closer to their opponents, as they could not beat "Vilnius" this time, after a great victory in the last round - the match in the capital ended goalless.
Marijampolė's "Sūduva" managed to win their second victory of the season, defeating Vilnius' "Vėtra" with a goal scored in the last minute. After this victory, only three points separate "Sūduva" from "Vilnius" in seventh place.
